Microprocessors

Microprocessor is an electronic device used for scientific, logical and mathematical manipulations. This forms the basis of Processors used in the computers. Microprocessor came into existence from the year 1970. This was used in calculators.

Intel introduced the first general purpose processor in the year 1974. This device named as 8080 was a 8bit microprocessor which had 64kb addressable memory. It was capable of executing thousands of instructions in a second. Microprocessors evolved over a period with technological design. Processors were integrated and embedded together in a chip by VLSI and form a powerful computing skill. This lead to several advancements in computer and other electronic devices.
